I just had a random thought about a #Mythender sequel that isn't Mythender Reborn (the modern day «your city just became a Mythic World» hack). It's called Mythender Aftermath, and the premise: «You have Ended the last of the gods, and yet the Mythic World remains...because you still exist. Yet there is a glimmer of hope, for as the final god passed into oblivion, you've all seen how to rid yourself of the curse of being a Mythender.»

Why you can't just kill each other: if a Mythender is to die now, still imbued with Mythic power, she may fall into the clutches of the Mythic World causing it to be reborn.

The amusing-to-me idea is that as it's no longer a story of Mythenders battling vast beings, it goes from being super dice-heavy to being diceless (or maybe dice-light in specific circumstances, akin to Polaris). You're overall goal is to gain enough mortal sympathy to lose your Mythic connection. But the world is still filled with Mythic threats. Lesser Myths still exist, though without protection any longer, and the World itself is in death throes, causing all sorts of calamitous events.

Letting the world burn to stay mortal means you cannot also gain mortal sympathy. Retreating from the world and becoming a hermit means you cannot gain mortal sympathy. So long as you exist and do nothing, you will remain a Mythender and mortals will suffer.

I don't know if I'll do anything with this, but who knows.
