Healer — The healer may take an action to defend retroactively (and cleverly/with Lore*) against a physical attack for an ally. If this action is taken in a new scene, including after the conflict is resolved, the healer must spend a Fate point. * In Core, you may want an additional skill switch stunt to justify such an action. In FAE the action could simply be a clever or careful roll. One character can defend another, without expending an action, as long as the narrative allows for this: «You could also put yourself directly between the attack and the intended target, such that the bad guy has to get through you to get to your buddy. Then you’re just defending as normal and taking the stress and consequences yourself.» (Fate Core p. 170)
