According to a chat with Keith Baker, the natives of Cyre pronounced it «kai-ree». Nearly every other nation tended to pronounce it their own way, however; some made it sound like «seer», others like «sire», with numerous variations. You could often tell a person's nationality by how they mispronounced it. (In that sense, it's sort of like New Orleans. Everyone has a different way of saying it.)
