Your players will, no doubt, come up with several strategies for finding the thing. That's fine. But just between you and me, it doesn't really marrer much. True, a smart strategy should be rewarded and incredible stupidity should have consequences, but the focus of this chakra is not detection. Unless they do something completely moronic (like get arrested, or give up) your PCs should get admission to the main event in Part Three. The point of Part Two is to let the PCs blow off a lirtle steam with some inconclusive struggles, and to get them to the Big Game.
