The four grids are layered two by two, which is presumably an effort to Dordle make it easier to use on a phone. This means that you can't see all of them at once and have to browse between levels to see where you are letter-wise, even on a desktop. But designer Freddie Meyer (who also gives credit to both Dordle founder Guilherme S. Tows and prototyper David Mah) has graciously included a Practice mode so you may shatter your head over and over again.
